TAG is actively recruiting for Investment Consultants and Senior Investment Consultants, as our client has a range of exciting openings across their highly successful, multi-disciplined UK Investments team. Our client, a multi-national consulting and broking business who work with some of the largest clients in the UK, are seeking qualified candidates at varying levels of seniority. There’s significant opportunity and scope to work with some of their largest UK based clients to offer bespoke investment solutions across a range of delivery models, advisory or delegated. Positions are available in any of their regional offices across the UK, with the flexibility for hybrid working available as well.

Strong fundamentals in fund management or investment consulting coupled with sales and business development skills and the ability drive revenue growth will make you really standout for these positions.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform in-depth research and analysis using quantitative analytics tools to ensure a comprehensive understanding of client needs and the investment strategies required to deliver them
• Actively promote house views, acting as a representative and figurehead throughout the investment industry and with your business network at events and stakeholder meetings
• Lead on BAU workflows, escalation of client queries, delivery of investment strategy, advice, and be an SME and point of escalation for collaborating departments’ team members
• Oversee client projects relating to investment governance, strategic asset allocation and implementation, including manager searches, selection, and monitoring
• Lead on preparing, distributing, and presenting client/market facing collateral at internal and external stakeholder meetings and industry events
• Drive key business relationships in order to help identify and develop revenue generating opportunities with new and existing clients
• Leverage market leading expertise, scale, brand, and infrastructure; to design and facilitate the implementation and delivery of a range of sophisticated investment advisory and fiduciary management solutions to a range of institutional clients
• Act as a mentor to junior members of the team, checking the technical accuracy of their work, delivering training sessions, delegating tasks, as well as completing other management tasks as required. Whilst maintaining your own competency and ongoing professional development
• Work as a trusted advisor to engage effectively on a wide range of complex projects with senior stakeholders within the institutional finance space, including insurers, statutory boards, institutional investors, pension schemes, wealth managers, banks, NFP’s (such as charities) and others
• Syndicate and manage internal resources with other critical business functions to deliver advice, standout service and add value to clients

Essential/desired experience:

• Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work within a team, support other business functions and act as a mentor to junior colleagues
• Strong technical fundamentals across asset liability modelling and LDI management are desirable
• An ability to troubleshoot and think laterally with excellent analytical and problem-solving fundamentals
• A strong client focus with the ability to assimilate and then communicate the key components and benefits of our clients’ value proposition
• Technically strong with a well-rounded knowledge of pension schemes’ assets and liabilities, investment markets and asset classes, and a working understanding of the broader pension and investment industry landscape
• Strong communicator with well-developed written skills and effective listening skills, who is able to clearly articulate complex issues and ideas to clients and colleagues
• Demonstrable experience working directly with pension scheme Trustees, sponsoring employers and/or other financial institutions within the consultancy, capital markets or insurance environments
• Strong leadership qualities are essential for the Senior Investment Consultant positions
• Ability to engage effectively and persuasively with decision makers of existing and prospective clients up to C-suite level
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with other modelling tools would also be an advantage
• Qualified Actuary or CFA
• A self-starter who is confident working on projects independently and as part of a collaborative team
